Waiting List Update for 2019 Season

We have been able to fill over 250 more gymnast places for 2019 so far, with some people still to get back to us! We have finally finished our phone calls and would like to know if anyone who believes they were on the waiting list BEFORE DECEMBER 18, have been missed in this process. If you were missed please contact the club via private Facebook message and we will direct you to one of the 5 people who have been offering places.

If you put your name on the waiting list after December 18, once all people have responded, we will call the next person on the waiting list.

Gymnaestrada 2019

2019 WG logoFrom the 7th – 13th July 2019, a dedicated group of 10 gymnasts from our club (and 6 family members travelling as supporters) will be travelling to Dornbirn, Austria, the largest city in the region of Vorarlberg, for the 2019 Gymnaestrada.

  • Michael Herrmann
  • Blake Hampel
  • Austin Hampel
  • Carolyn Martin
  • Imogen Santos
  • Rebekah Thomson
  • Layne Fenwick
  • Abby Fenwick
  • Heidi James
  • Anastasia Kondoprias

They will be performing with gymnasts from all over the world in the world’s largest general gymnastics exhibition.

The World Gymnaestrada is held every four years. It includes group performances where adults and children of every age and description showcase their talent and the culture of their various countries. Choreography is designed both to challenge the participants and to delight audiences. Routines are performed at various venues within the host country.

A highlight is The World-Team, which is an international large-group performance in which gymnasts from all over the world can choose to take part. It is not connected with any one group, therefore all those who participate in the World Gymnaestrada can take part, even individuals. It includes 2 Rehearsals and 2 Performances – Dornbirn Special and Closing Ceremony. At Helsinki over 2,000 people took part in the World Team.

Apart from many trainings in our own gymnasium, the group will take part in a training camp with the rest of the Australian team, held immediately before the World Gymnaestrada from the 2nd or 3rd to 6th July 2015. The camp will be held close to Dornbirn. The purpose of the camp is to allow for all individual groups to come together as one Australian team; recover from long-distance travel and to rehearse routines.

We wish our team all the best as they prepare.

For more information on the World Gymnaestrada, visit their website at https://www.wg2019.at/wg2019/en

Gymnaestrada Kytons Bakery Fundraiser

Kytons Bakery have been helping groups to fundraise in Adelaide for over 30 years and are best known for their delicious, fluffy lamingtons which have won numerous local and national awards.  Kytons also makes a range of other delicious goodies, including cookies, fruit crumble pies and even belgian waffles.

Our Acro Troupe have again been lucky enough to be selected to represent Australia for the next World Gymnaestrada being held in Austria in 2019.  We would love your help to support our 12 gymnasts in their fundraising towards purchasingcostumes, props and anything else they may need to create a great performance.  To do this we are running a Kytons Bakery fundraising drive.

Kytons use the best ingredients, traditional recipes aand great care to bake products that delight.
Their products are all about the special moments in life – special moments remembered forever.

Kytons Bakery is a family owned business and their products are well known in South Australia, so we encourage you to pass your order form around to friends, family and work colleagues.  You will probably find that they are enthusiastic to purchase from you, and the more products we sell, the more money we will raise for our Gymnaestrada Troupe.

If you would like to know more about Kytons Bakery’s products, including nutricional information, ingredients list or serving suggestions, visit kytonsbakery.com.au

Please return your order forms with the relevant money to Tammy Thomson (Club Treasurer) by Monday 17th September.

Orders will be available for collection on Wednesday 26th September form the BDYC Stadium, Berri.
